Split lengthways and scrape the seeds into crème brûlée, ice cream, and panna cotta for the most authentic vanilla experience possible. Infuse the whole pod into milk, cream, or sugar for a deeply flavoured vanilla base. Don't discard the spent pods — bury them in sugar to make vanilla sugar, or simmer in cream for a second infusion.
